Murphy & Co Vets on Builder Street West Llandudno is owned by Fiona Murphy. Fiona graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2007 and has been working in North Wales for most of her career.
The practice was set up in 2012. After searching for several months we found the perfect site with plenty of space to allow our unique design which includes separate dog and cat areas. We are situated directly opposite Llandudno Football Club which makes us easy to find (just drive any direction to Llandudno and follow the symbols of the brown football). We also have the advantage of ample car parking spaces.
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce my team, who you may see when visiting the practice.
Hello my name is Fiona. I am originally from Aylesbury but studied at University of Liverpool, graduating with a BSc in Zoology and then also qualified as a vet with a BVSc in 2007. I have been in practice in the county of Conwy since 2008 and have special interests in ultrasonography, behaviour and cardiology. I closely follow technological developments in veterinary medicine and with my team we try to offer our clients the most up to date and clinically proven treatments available. I know that having an ill pet can sometimes be an awful experience and our traditional values ensure our clients receive an attentive service whether they are visiting for a vaccination or a critical surgical procedure.
Having lived locally for nearly ten years I have been fortunate to have met an enormous number of lovely clients and always enjoy stopping for a chat if I met them out walking my dog, Ruby, on local beaches, around the National Park or even at the supermarket. I apologise in advance if I recognise your dogs first. When I’m not with clients I spend my time with my little boy and husband who are also animal lovers, naturally.
Hello my name is Emma. I started working at Murphy & Co Vets in May 2016 and I am loving meeting all the clients and their pets. I graduated from Bristol University in 2012 and I have previously worked as a mixed animal vet in North Wales and a small animal only vet on The Wirral. I enjoy all aspects of my job and love meeting new people. I am currently studying to become an advanced practitioner in small animal medicine. This is where my main interest lies along with pain management, anaesthesia and ultrasonography.
Outside of work I enjoy mountain biking and walking and love exploring the beaches and Snowdonia with my rescue Labrador Bradley who is also enjoying his working days at Murphy & Co Vets chilling in the office upstairs!
Nicola Noble Practice Manager
Hello my name is Nicola, and I joined Murphy and Co Vets in January 2015 after being with my previous employer for over 13 years. As the practice manager I have the overall responsibility to ensure the practice is run with the best interest of our clients and staff at heart, this is done by having regular feedback from both clients and staff which is greatly appreciated. Please don’t hesitate to call in to see me, you’ll either find me in the office, cleaning out kennels or making the staff their well deserved cups of tea. Here I am pictured with my dog Lloyd who’s naughty antics regularly see’s him as a patient at the vets.

Lauren Thomas Student Veterinary nurse
Hello my name is Lauren. I’ve been lucky enough to have been brought up on a small holding always surrounded by a wide variety of different animals. It was therefore the most natural thing in the world and no surprise to my family, not only to work with, but help animals. In September 2015 I started to fulfill that ambition by joining Murphy & Co Vets and training to be a veterinary nurse. I currently study at Glynllifon college where I do a block placement of 9 weeks at college and 9 weeks at Murphy & Co Vets . When I’m not studying I’m helping out on the smallholding with the sheep and goats. We also breed dalmatians and have six of our own. If that doesn’t keep me busy enough, I have a love for horses and compete in show jumping and cross country with my horse Henry. I also love to show my Welsh ponies and I can be seen every summer running around the main ring at the Royal Welsh Agricultural show. I am looking forward to completing my course and fully qualifying so that I can work as a veterinary nurse helping and caring for animals everyday.
Lucy Gillis Qualified Dog Groomer and Receptionist
Hello I am Lucy, I have been working on reception at Murphy & Co Vets since May 2014, having originally come to the practice as a client . I have really enjoyed meeting all the clients and after listening to them saying that they were unable to get their dogs groomed due to waiting times I decided to offer our very own grooming service. I have been a qualified dog groomer for over 6 years and love doing all types of grooms from full grooms to hand strips. You can see examples of my work on our Facebook page. Outside of work I enjoy road biking, horse riding and being outdoors with my dog George.
