We are proud to be an accredited Silver Cat Friendly Clinic with the International Society of Feline Medicine. We achieved this status in 2016 as we believe cats must be recognised as having specific needs, which are very different to those of dogs.
We have a cat only seating area with a Feliway diffuser, blankets to cover cat carriers and leaflets and posters to offer client education. Our consult rooms also have Feliway diffusers, non-slip examination tables and cat friendly scales. Our veterinary surgeons and nurses employ feline friendly handling techniques and examine cats in their carriers where possible as the familiar smell of home can help to reduce stress.
Our cat ward kennels have hides for cats to ensure they feel safe and secure and we tailor their care to your cat’s needs. Our onsite digital x-ray, ultrasound, dental, theatre, laboratory and LASER therapy equipment mean that we can offer the best first opinion care for your cat. Visiting specialists in orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery and cardiology also attend the practice to reduce the need for referral in these areas.
If your cat struggles to cope when attending the veterinary practice our nurses can carry out simple actions at your home, such as nail trimming, administering flea and worm treatments, weight checks and LASER therapy.
If you have any questions about the Cat Friendly Clinic or bringing your cat in to see us please speak to our Cat Advocate and Student Veterinary Nurse, Joy.
